Can’t Add or Delete Widgets

I updated my theme but lost my edited widgets in the process, my links or blogrolls and other widget is not showing on the sidebar. I cant add or delete the widgets either because. my url is http://yelosworld.wordpress.com

This is a common problem since the change to 2.7. What you need to do is go back to your old theme and remove all the widgets. (If you have something in a text widget, save it to a text file first.) Then change to the new theme and add the widgets back in.

This is a fairly common problem since 2.7 was introduced. Switch back to your old theme and remove all the widgets. (Make sure you save to a file any information you have in text widgets first.) Then change to the new theme and add the widgets back in.

Having the same problem….my widgets were all there…blogroll and all. I added the email subscription and then POOF all the other widget were GONE!!!! All that work for absolutely nothing!! I’m not finding any really useful fixes…any thoughts…ideas….hammers to destroy wordpress? lol (just kidding) But it seems that this has been an ongoing problem from the posts I’ve seen, but obviously, it hasn’t been fixed! grrrr…

I like WordPress and generally find it quite usable, but I’ve tried and failed several times to add an image of my book to my sidebar. I followed the steps for creating a widget, put in the URL with the spevified coding, then found my entire sidebar and blogroll had disappeared. The theme, White As Milk, is suposed to be widget enabled.

What, exactly, is the code you’re using? Please paste it here between backticks so we can look at it. Backticks are those little apostrophe-like marks that on most keyboards are on the same key as the ~. So it’s backtick, paste all your code, backtick. That makes it show up properly so we can see if it’s an issue with your code.

I am a fairly new WP user, but I am not new to the world of blogging. I set up a digg 3-column page a few weeks ago, and since I set it up, I have NOT been able to add the widgets that I want. I can’t even get my archives on there because it thinks I’m already using them or something… trust me, they’re not on my page. I have contacted WP about this four times, and received only a useless “we’re working on it” reply to the first message. Two more were ignored, and I sent the last just a few minutes ago.
Apparently this is not a new problem, but since I don’t have an old theme to go back to, I can’t use the trick vivianpage shared to resolve the problem. Any other ideas? Please?
This has become truly maddening. Blogger wasn’t as cool, but at least it WORKED.
