CAn’t add photos
-
Okay, new look! But I can’t get a photo to load. It was incredibly easy before.
It says specified firld failed, or something like that.
Okay, I give up. How do you upload photos with the newfangled system?

Okay, it says this …
”Specified file failed upload test.”
Never a problem before. What do I do??
-
Search the forum, or simply scroll down. There are five or six threads on the front page of the forum right now having to do with image uploading. Read those.
-
I’ve read everything and tried everything. Nothing works. Nothing! I never get ‘send to editor’.
Please keep in mind not everyone blogging is computer savy or a tech nerd. This is really fruistrating for some of us. So again, why can’t I get a photo to load?
It USED to be I could just dial it up, point where I wanted it, and send to editor. Now it seems I can’t even control where it goes.
I really need someone to help me here with a little patience. reading all the other posts did zero to resove my problem.

I couldn’t upload photos either – then someone suggested updating the Flash Player on my computer. I reinstalled Flash from this link:
http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/
and now everything works fine!

More on uploading (how to) and the Flash issue in this sticky:

I hope the

will stay up for a while as it is seems media player is one of a few steps to get the bugs worked out.

Okay, it worked once, now it’s back to doing absolutely nothing.
I give up. Looks like my blog is frozen in time.

guerro: what browser and OS do you have? What kind of file are you uploading? How big is it? What is its name?
We need details to fix problems.
-
I’m not a techie and don’t know browser from OS (have a good laugh, it’s ok)
It’s windows XP if that helps, but when I try to download quicktime it says i don’t have xp, so who knows. 2000 maybe. How do I locate that info.
The photo is a jpeg 10.3 kb.
It worked once.

When I hit ‘insert into post’ (is that the same as Send to Editor?), the screen goes white. And that’s it. It’s stays that way.

Your browser name and version number is probably in the Help / About menu of the browser. That’s the main number for us to know.
Your Flash version number (if any) would be very useful too. You can see it on this page:
http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_15507
Next thing to try is clearing your browser cache. This page explains how to do that for most common browsers:
http://kb.iu.edu/data/ahic.html
If you’re still having problems, it would be very helpful if you could give us a step by step description of what you did and what you saw – “first I clicked on this button, then on this link, then I saw x when I expected to see y”. I realize that’s tedious, but we can’t see what you see so we need you to describe it to us as best you can.
(Believe it or not this stuff does actually work. When it fails it does so for a reason, we need details to find out what those reasons are).
-
“the screen goes white” – can you still see the File / Edit menus of your web browser, and the Back button?

I click on Add Media and choose computer. I click on choose file to upload, and the fill in caption, description, alignment, size, and hit insert into post. The little window goes white, and there it sits. Nothing moves.

Ah, so the Add Media popup box is the part that goes white? Thanks for the details, I’m looking into it.
