Can't add plugins to my wordpress site. Do I need host elsewhere?
-
Hey guys, my other post wasn’t clear enough and I can’t delete/change it. I can’t install any plugins within my site at all. I’m a free user and I’ve purchased a domain from wordpress. I need to install certain SEO plugins on there as this is my business website. Do I need to sign up for hosting elsewhere and transfer the files across to do so? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi there. You got the correct answer in this thread: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/installing-yoast-plugin-on-my-wordpress-site-cant-do-it?replies=2#post-2428948
We cannot use any plugins on WordPress.com. If you need to use a plugin that’s not already a feature here, then self-hosted is your only option.
However, be aware that we already have excellent SEO on WordPress.com, better than the Yoast plugin will give you on a self-hosted site, so personally I don’t think you need it.
