Can’t add user who has wordpress account

I was able to successfully add users who immediately made an account. I am trying to add another user who has had an account on wordpress for about a year now but it won’t let me add him. It says “That email address does not belong to any user here. Would you like to invite that person to use WordPress.com?”
But he can still sign in with the e-mail address I used to add him initially.
If I choose to invite him it prompts him to make a new account.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Ask the person to check their account (the one they want to use for your blog) and look under > settings > general to see what email address is associated with that specific account.

He changed it from email to another in the past. Both the old email and new/current email (one used to currently log in) are not able to be added. It keeps prompting me to invite him be email in which he has to make a new account.

This is probably something staff will have to address then since volunteers can’t search emails or anything like that. I’ll tag this thread for staff attention since they are closed till the 19th, but they are monitoring the forums.

Not a problem. My first thought is that if WP is prompting you to send them an invitation, that means it is not finding those email addresses in the database here.
In our dashboards, there are two places to enter our email addresses. One is at settings > general and that is the blog admin email address, and the one that the account is tied to. The other place we can enter an email address is at users > personal settings and that one is for notifications (comments and such) only.

He re-changed his email his again (to the current email) and I guess it worked. I was able to add him. Maybe just a random glitch.

It could have been, or it could have been that he changed it in one place, but not in the other. The good thing is though that you have now been able to add him. That is what counts.
