Can't add widgets :(
-
Good morning! I have been trying to add more widgets (text html) to my sidebar with no luck. I’ve tried three different ones (just to be sure it wasn’t something wrong with the other person’s button that I was trying to add) and still no success. Can you please help me with this? It’s showing that it’s added on the widget page, but when I go to my main page, it’s not there.
Thanks so much and have a great weekend!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Have you consulted your theme description http://theme.wordpress.com/retired/mistylook/ and live demo site http://mistylookdemo.wordpress.com/ and verified whether or not the theme is designed to display widgets on every page of the blog?
If you have done that and are clear on the foregoing then the next thing to do is to open the widgets and make sure the visibility settings are correct. Widgets now have “visibility” settings so we can select which pages they display on. See here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/#widget-visibility

Thanks timethief for taking the time to help me out. The odd thing is that as of a couple days ago, I was able to post widgets. Now all of a sudden I am unable to do so. I have checked the visibility settings, still not working. I’m wondering if there is a glitch in the WordPress system. Thanks again!

There is for IE users who have not upgraded to the latest version. Could that be the problem?

Thanks raincoaster for helping me out. I wondered if it had something to do with the browser, but I use Firefox. It would be interesting to see if it works in internet explorer. Might have to check that out!

Try adding a different widget, like the calendar widget, and see if it shows up.
You can add all the text widgets you want, but if they don’t have any content that can be displayed, they will not be displayed.

Thanks for the suggestion, raincoaster! I did try adding the calendar widget with no luck. I even tried in a different browser to add a variety of widgets, including the calendar. Still not luck. :(

I posted a response that relates only to this blog:
The blog I need help with is pennyzeller.wordpress.com.
Are you referring to this site http://www.pennyzeller.com/ that is not being hosted by WordPress.com?
-
If you are referring to http://www.pennyzeller.com/ then you are posting to the wrong support forum. WordPress.com and WordPress.org have different log-ins and run different versions of themes with same names. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.
