can’t attach tags to a post

I have 500+ posts in 7.5 years. In trying to publish a post today, each time I started to type in a tag, previously used as well as new ones, each would disappear after I typed a few letters. Is this a temporary WordPress problem or is there a total limit on tags I can have in my blog?

This is still the post author: I didn’t exceed the total number of categories + tags = 14. In the problematic post, I had 5 categories and NO tags when the tags kept disappearing.

Indeed, I am having precisely the same ADD NEW TAG problem. This came up only after updating my 2016 iMac 27 to the Monterey OS. WP tech has been informed.

I am experiencing the exact same issue on my blog. I try to type in a tag and the letters just disappear. This started happening recently because I could type in tags just a few days ago. I contacted support and they told me to try clearing my cache, trying another browser, etc… Nothing they suggested has corrected the problem. It seems kind of useless to have a blog that I can’t add tags to.
