can't cancel domain mapping

  I mapped jefferycotton.com to my jeffcotton.wordpress.com blog, but I am not happy that all it does is a redirect — I can do that myself. So I tried to cancel it, but I keep getting the message “You do not appear to be the owner of this domain.” — which I most certainly am. What gives here?

  Actually, you aren’t using domain mapping to its full potential. You’ll need to set it as your primary domain via Store -> Domains in your blog’s Dashboard.
