Can't cancel my domain & site

I need to cancel my website & domain. When I click “Delete Site,” I get a “Premium Upgrade” pop up that says “You have active premium upgrades on your site. Please cancel your upgrades prior to deleting your site.” Can you please walk me through the process to get rid of my domain and site?

Hey there,
So that we are on the same page, once you decide to cancel your domain, there is no guarantee that you will be able to reacquire it in the future. Someone else could gain access to it.
If you want to keep using your domain but you don’t want to use WordPress.com anymore, you don’t have to cancel it. Instead, you can move the domain to another site, using the Domain Administration tool under Store > Domains, at the bottom of the page.

If you want to permanently delete your site, please follow this guide:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/Please read the warnings and advice before deleting a site, as we can’t revert a site deletion for any reason.
If you want to hide your site instead, you can use the following guide to make your site private so only you and other members of the site can view it when logged in:

Thank you for responding. Yes, I would like to completely delete my site. I will not be using the name anymore. Can you assist me since it won’t allow me?

Sure, that’s done now. You can now delete the site here:
https://wordpress.com/settings
Just remember you won’t be able to use vandieb.wordpress.com again either if you do decide to delete it.
