Can't change category

Hi, I have only just signed up for my blog and I haven’t even posted anything yet, because I cannot change the “Uncategorized” category. I don’t want to use that and when I try to edit it and change it to “Life” it just will not change. I change the name and click “update” but it never actually changes, it says “saving” but it never actually saves the changes. Where am I going wrong please?

You can’t change the default “uncategorized” category – you need to create a new one and set it as your default category.

I don’t understand. If I can’t change it, why is there an edit button for it? What’s the point of it if you can’t change it to something else? I don’t think anyone would want a category named “Uncategorized”, would they? That link you gave says that we CAN rename that category, so now I am just confused.
