can't change favicon (godaddy domain, mapped onto wordpress.com)

    Hi,
I purchased my domain with godaddy and then mapped it onto wordpress.com
After having chosen a theme etc., I wanted to change the WP-favicon to a personal one (I have an ico-file). This is not possible for me, in the two ways how it is usually done:
    1) I cannot go to Settings > General and then change it there.
    2) I cannot go to Theme > Customize > Site Identity and change it there.
(as in: at those two locations there is no option to change/add the favicon)

I assume that’s because I mapped the domain onto WP, and didn’t purchase it through WP? Or perhaps a limitation of my theme? In any case, I cannot do it on the godaddy side either, as I’m not using them for hosting. It HAS to be done on the wordpress.com side somewhere, but it seems impossible.
Does anyone know what I can do?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello – it looks like you got this to work. Can you tell me how? I’m trying to figure out the same thing right now

I changed from wordpress.com to wordpress.org! That was a lot of work, but it was worth it. As far as I know, there really is no way how you can do this with wordpress.com (at least not with the themes I’ve used).
