can't change format of Chateau theme

    I posted this in a forum about 2 hours ago and can’t find it – too many forums, it was accessed somewhere else. And when I was on a different page could’t log into WordPress, told me my username didn’t exist. oh well.
    Anyway,
    I have the Chateau theme, but can’t change the format to have a right side bar (as it showed in the listing of themes grrrr). All the bits are right down the bottom where I, or anyone else would have to scroll to know they exist. I went into ‘theme options’ and clicked the circle for ‘content side bar’ (about 20 times grrrrrrrr) and it won’t change from everything being listed at woop woop down the bottom. I don’t want to change themes as a lot of them don’t seem to provide for those extra little bits to have on the page (widgets).

    I use this theme and its working well. I’m telling you this is the problem of your browser not with WP. I also noticed this problem while surfing from Opera 11.60. But firefox shows this well. What’s your browser version.

    thankyou iphonist1 – it won’t change the format in either IE9 or Firefox. Do you know of any other themes that give the choice of adding widgets? some don’t seem to do it. I’ll consider after wasting the whole day and half the night on WordPress wheather to run and not come back.
    Actually, I’d like just the default theme, I could add widgets to that. I can’t see how to get back to the default theme.

    You can add any widget you want in Chateau theme.

    You can click on your username at the top right of any forum page to get a listing of the threads you have started or posted in.

    I answered you in the other thread by saying that I saw a right sidebar on the site linked to your username with a subscription widget in it. That point is totally moot though as that site is no longer using Chateau.

    As I already told him that it was browser version which fails to show the sidebar widgets, as I also noticed it.

    From Panos:

    You also need to go to Appearance>Widgets and drag your widgets from Footer to Sidebar.
