Can't change gravatar picture
-
I can’t change my gravatar in my profile. When I click to change the picture, it opens a new tab & closes it automatically. When I choose not to let it close automatically, it shows the URL https://secure.gravatar.com/accounts/force-by-email/fail.
I’ve tried in both Google Chrome & Internet Explorer, but both do the same thing.
I wanted to update the gravatar for http://en.gravatar.com/grossmanlawaoffices with the image here: http://www.injuryrelief.com/images/michael_grossman-dallas_personal_injury_lawyer.jpg

I’m having the same problem. I just signed up today, and I clicked the “change Gravatar” link, but as you said, the tab opened and closed. I’m using Chrome, so I thought maybe that was the problem, but I guess not.
Any help would be much appreciated.

http://www.injuryrelief.com/ is not a free hosted WordPress.com blog and we don’t provide support for it. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have separate logins. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click this link http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers. -

Your blog is a free hosted WordPress.com blog. See: http://en.support.wordpress.com/avatars/blavatars/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/avatars/gravatars/Gravatars do not show up instantly after uploading them. Gravatar images are cached and frequently take several days to display after a change. Do not keep uploading! The first place they tend to display is here in the forums. If several days have passed and that change is not in evidence then post here for Gravatar support > http://en.gravatar.com/site/contact-us/

No, it never let me choose a Gravatar. I clicked the link, it opened in a new tab, then closed immediately. I tried it multiple times, refreshed, still wouldn’t work.

That sounds like a browser related issue to me.
1. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
2. If you are using an IE browser in compatibility mode please disable that mode. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html
3. If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/
(a) Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
If applicable see here for instructions on how to clear the cache for Chrome and Safari on the iPad:
http://browsers.about.com/od/howtousemobilebrowser1/ss/safari-ipad-clear-cache.htm
http://browsers.about.com/od/howtousemobilebrowser1/ss/How-To-Clear-Browsing-Data-In-Chrome-For-Ipad_6.htm(b) Make sure that you have both third-party cookies enabled and JavaScript enabled
http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/
http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=12654(c) Disable all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily.
(d) Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
Add both *.wordpress.com and *.wp.com to your list of trusted sites under the Security tab. Make sure to uncheck the box for “Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.” http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/#frequently-asked-questions
4. If you are not successful let us know:
(a) How you are connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://www.whatbrowser.org/
(c) And what any error reports you receive state. -
Not sure if you have figured out the issue with your gravatar or not, but I was having the same problem. I finally went here:
And created a gravatar first. Once I done this and associated a gravatar with my email address. I came back to wordpress and the gravatar was showing automatically. So it has nothing to do with our browser, but instead, with gravatar’s security settings not recognizing an email address first.
Once you do this, you should be able to control changing the gravatar from your wordpress settings.
Hope this helps if you need it.
