    How do you change page margins? There’s no option anywhere and 60% of my posts are white space!

  • Hi there,

    While I understand you’d like the text to fill more of the screens, those margins are by design – if the lines on the screen are too long, it makes your content harder to read, so any well-designed website will restrict the width of the content area to a maximum width of no more than around 75 characters per line.

    But if you want to make it wider you can do so in the site editor.

    Go to Appearance ->Editor.

    Click on the template name at the top, and select the template you want to change. For your site’s front page you’ll want the Page template (any changes you make to that will affect all static pages on your site).

    Once you’re on the page template, you’ll see some placeholder blocks for the page title, page content, comments, etc. Those are what display the content you add in the page editor.

    Click on each of the blocks you want to have wider in turn, and use the width setting in the block toolbar on each block to change it to the wide or full-width options. (I prefer to keep the block list view open when editing templates, as it just makes it easier to select blocks.)

    Once you’ve changed all the blocks you want wider, click Save, and if you now view your site you should see your content area displayed wider.

    If you’ll also be publishing blog posts on your site, and want those wider as well, repeat this process with the Single Post template.

    Let me know if you have any questions about this.
