can’t change my email

    I have looked all over the five or six sites I have, both public and private (hidden) and they all use an old email that I want to change. Every time I try to change the email in the Settings, General or Users, all, it tells me that the new email is already in use. But it’s my gmail, it doesn’t appear anywhere on administrator or websites on WordPress, and there’s no where to change it without running into ‘that email is already in use.’ It can’t be in use and be a gmail address. What the heck do I have to do to get my main site to change the damn email address?

    What is the URL of the site you’re trying to change it on, and what email address are you trying to change it to?

    Hi. Sorry, takes me a while to get back to this computer and email.

    It’s https://chandakzimmerman.wordpress.com

    The email I want to change things to is (email visible only to moderators and staff).

    But I would also like to be able to change the email in the future, if I can figure out what is going on with this site and my WordPress account.

    There is already a WordPress.com username account that’s using that email. It looks like you have an old account with that email that you may have forgotten about.

    Log out of your questingmoon account, and then enter that email in our password reset form. That way you can regain access to the old account. Once you’ve changed the email on that old account to something different, you’ll be able to use this email address for your questingmoon account.
