Can’t change my email

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello,
I a, new to WordPress and I am facing 2 issues I hope you could help me with.
    1. I signed up using BlueHost which signed me up with WP. The only way I can log into WP though is through my BlueHost account. I am not sure how to log into WP without BlueHost. When I try to login without BlueHost, WP says I have no site and it looks like my account is empty. What should I do?

    2. I have been trying to change the email associated with my blog for weeks now. I want the emails sent by readers to be received to a different email account of mine. I tried changing the receiver from the contact form itself but it still won’t work. Then I tried changing my email through the user in the Profile section, but it’s been pending confirmation for a week. I didn’t receive any email from WP to confirm the change. What should I do next and can you please fix the issue?

    Thank you for your help.

Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com but instead a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted at Bluehost.

We cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. But, I can get you pointed in the right direction.

Your WordPress.com user account is only for the Jetpack connection they set up for you. You would log into your site here:

For your other questions, you would need to reach out to Bluehost for help here. Since they host your site, they also have access to your site’s files and can best advise on how to fix things.
