Cant Change My Email address in my Profile

    Dear Support,

    I am trying to change my email address on wordpress for this blog rayof-light2020.data.blog and I receive the following email from WordPress say:- We recently received a request to change the email address for the WordPress.com user rjclements2015 from (email visible only to moderators and staff) to (email visible only to moderators and staff). If you made this request, you can safely ignore and delete this email. If you did not request this change, please respond to this email immediately. Regards, All at WordPress.com
    However when I go back to my profile it was the following:- stating that it is waiting for me to clink on a confor-mation link which it is not in the email sent to me.

    There is a pending change of your email to (email visible only to moderators and staff). Please check your inbox for a confirmation link.

    Please would you look into this.

  • Hi there,

    The email you reference is the one we send to the old/current email address.

    We also sent an email to the new email address, containing a link you need to click to complete the change. Please check the inbox for the new email address for that confirmation email.

    If you don’t see it, make sure to check spam, and any other filters your email provider might have set up.

    I have not received a verify email and have checked spam folder. Could it be because I am using an underscore character in my new email address?

    So back to you and the team.

  • Hi Raymond,

    the underscore shouldn’t be the issue, however, I checked our email logs and I can see that our message was rejected by your email host.

    Recipient address rejected: Address does not exist (in reply to RCPT TO command)

    This is the error we see on our end. Could there be any typo in the address?
    If not, I’d suggest reaching out to your email host for more information.

    Hi Fresatmica,

    I spelt mountain wrong with an “ian” instead of “ain”. It is a mistake I make sometimes.

    So thanks for the help. It has all been changed now.

    I apologise for making a rookie error. I have been in IT for nearly 30 years and did not see that error. You always need another pair of eyes to help every now and then.
