Can't change my website

When trying to change my Website in the Personal Settings and hitting save I get this message : ERROR: Please enter a nickname. How do I fix this? Thanks

I too see the ERROR: Please enter a nickname message while trying to change anything on Personal Settings page.
Changing the nick name temporarily (from My Profile page> Display name publicly as field) did not help either.
I tagged this thread for staff’s attention.

I guess I should throw my vote in here too. Same problem with odd error message when trying to change personal page info using either of
amateurmiscellany.wordpress.com or
programmingmiscellany.wordpress.comSame problem both places.

You can use http://snag.gy/ or cloudup.com to share screenshots and link to them here. If you use the WordPress.com guide for screenshots http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/ you can and upload it to your Media Library, and return to this thread to provide the file name so Staff can examine it.

I am able to change my Primary Blog today, after changing Display name publicly as (which I believe, is nickname). But “ERROR: Please enter a nickname” did not go away last time, even after changing the nickname.

I just reset my nickname to what it was and updated my profile.
The Primary Blog change persisted.

I tried to change my Primary Site from https://wordpress.com/me/account page. I saw Settings saved successfully! message but the Primary Site has not really changed.

OK, we’ve fixed this. Can you all give it a whirl and confirm it’s working for you too now?

At first, it did not work in Calypso. But I figured I had to change both the Primary Site and its Web Address as well for the Primary Site change to stick.
This isn’t a problem in WP-Admin in which there is no Web Address field.

staff-happychia I have to wonder if that’s a caching thing. At first it didn’t work for me in Calypso either, but when I went to get a screencast after a hard refresh, it did work, even without changing that URL setting.
