For some reason there is no option to change the permalink on my pages… plugins aren’t the issue, there’s just no option to change the permalink on the pages. I can do it in quick edit, but those changes don’t take. Please halp

Hi,
If you’re referring to a WordPress.com site, on the free plan, then you can change a page slug, but the not the entire permalink. The reason is that the part of the permalink that is not the editable slug consists of the site URL, and, if applicable, the slugs of any parent and grandparent pages. Those would have to be changed separately.
See the Posts & Pages section of the Permalinks & Slugs support page.
If you have either the Business plan or the Commerce plan, then permalink structure may be changed, as described in the Changing the Permalink Structure section of the same support page.

@freedopedownloads – Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com but instead a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted elsewhere.
We cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. But, I can get you pointed in the right direction.
You should review the Settings Permalink Screen guide to see where you need to change this: https://wordpress.org/support/article/settings-permalinks-screen/
And @musicdoc1 is correct – for sites hosted here at WordPress.com, you need to be on the Business or eCommerce plan to have access to those permalink settings.
If you still have trouble, please reach out to the WordPress community for guidance: https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting
I hope that clarifies things.
