Can’t change site admin email | Cant access my dashboard
-
I couldn’t access my dashboard. Every time I try to get in, there’s this message that says: ‘There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums’.
The thing is, I hired a friend to set up my website for me, and her email was initially registered as the site admin email. I’ve been trying to change it and requested so many times but never received any confirmation email.
And every time I try to connect to a live agent, the AI support assistant would say ‘human support is only available for our paid plans’ — I have a paid plan.
I am not tech savvy, so I’m not sure how to proceed. I’ve contacted my friend and there is no doubt she’ll get back to me but we live in different time zones and I need to get this fixed now.
Please help :(

Hi there,
Good morning. I hope you’re doing great.
Did you refer to https://niceytarroza.com/ as the website where you’re experiencing the issue?
If so, it looks like you’re using self-hosted WordPress in GoDaddy, not WordPress.com. Therefore, it’s recommended to open a support ticket at the following URL for WordPress.org support or GoDaddy support.

Oh my god, this makes so much sense.
Yes, I’m using self-hosted WordPress in GoDaddy. I’ll try to reach out to their customer support.
Also, considering my lack of knowledge in creating and maintaining a website (too technical for me, though I always try to learn and figure things out myself), do you suggest I switch to WordPress.com instead? Would it make things easier for me?
I really appreciate this, Faisal. Thank you so much!

I just noticed that WordPress.com is offering a flat 50% off the first year of their business plan. If you’d like to move, now is the best time to take advantage of this offer and migrate your website to WordPress.com.
