Can’t change themes

Add topic to favorites
I am not able to change the theme of my blog.

When I go to the presentation tab and click on a new theme, all it does is bring up an image of what my page would look like in that theme, but it doesn’t change anything. I don’t see anywhere to click to actually change the theme. I have searched the FAQ’s and forums with no success. I have tried accessing the control panels in Firefox and Safari and both do the same thing. I’ve never been this confused over a simple task like selecting a theme. Thanks for your help.

That’s the preview. In the upper right of that window you will see an “activate this theme” link. Press that and it will change your blog to that theme.

Thanks for your responses. I see that now in most themes, but for some reason the one titled MistyLook doesn’t have that link. Do you know how I can activate this theme? Thanks again?

I searched for the same theme using a different method (filtering for custom headers) and then the activate theme link was there. I have no clue why it is not there on the main index, but at least I found a workaround. Thanks “thesacredpath” for your help.

I get no “activate this theme” link in upper right corner (or anywhere), no matter how i access a theme page. I tried logging out and logging back in. anybody have any clue why?

Others are having this problem to. Have you tried simply clicking on the thumbnail? It works for me. If it doesn’t work for you please tell us which browser and version of it you are using.

I’m having the same problem with Solipsus… No activation link in Safari or Firefox… What to do?

I’m seeing the activate link in Firefox and also in Safari 3 beta and I tried it on all three of my blogs here at .com.

The first thing I would do is try logging out of wordpress, clearing your cache and cookies, then close your browser and reopen it and then log back in in Firefox, not Safari.

Are you opening them in a new window or just clicking on the thumbnail? If I open them in a new tab (Firefox) the activation link is not there. Sounds simple and I am sure you are smarter than me but I just spent the last 15 minutes of my life trying to figure it out.

When previewing a new Theme for your blog, it does not give you an “Apply this Theme” button…. unless you are using Internet Explorer.

This is a major flaw.

Most of the people I know have converted to Ubuntu, and Internet Explorer does not run on Ubuntu — only the best browser, Firefox, runs on Ubuntu.

bruce: the Activate Theme link appears in all browsers that I have tested. We use and recommend Firefox over IE.

Hi all. I’m in FF 2.0.0.12. Had the problem of not seeing the “Activate” option, cleared cache, not cookies, and I was good to go. Hope this helps someone.
