Can’t change username back

    I tried changing username from vrdhotre to dvaibhavsar. But after 5 minutes it says username already existed.

    I have verified that vrdhotre is not claimed by anyone.

    Please resolve this issue.

    I should be able to change by my previous usernames also until none claim that.

    Hi there,

    When you change a username, that completely and permanently disables the old username, so vrdhotre is no longer available for anyone, including you, to use on WordPress.com. This was explained very clearly in the warnings we showed when you confirmed the username change.

    Username changes cannot be reversed, so there is no way for you to go back to using the vrdhotre username.

    Earlier LinkedIn was also using this method for profile URLs. But on my request LinkedIn have improved.

    Now there are multiple links (URLs) can be attached to the one profile.

    So, please change this ToS.

    It is not good to become so rigid with the customers.

    We should have some freedom in this.

    We clearly state both in our documentation and in the clear warnings when you go to change your username that you cannot change it back. This isn’t a policy we would change.

    I hope that clarifies things.
