Can't change visited link color from white to other color
-
Hello there,
I hope someone can help me. My wordpress website has a white background and unfortunately the color of a visited link is also set to white in the theme.
The theme I use is called Fashionistas.I tried to change the color in the editor for the theme. But although I chose a different color for the visited link, it won’t change anything. The visited link still stays white.
It looks like this at the moment:/* Links */
a {
color: #333;
outline: none;
-webkit-transition: all 0.14s ease 0s;
-moz-transition: all 0.14s ease 0s;
-o-transition: all 0.14s ease 0s;
}
a:visited {
color: #666;
}
a:hover,
a:focus,
a:active {
color: #666;
}It would be great of someone could help me how I can change the color for the visited link so that it really is a different color after being visited.
Thanks in advance!

Hi, could you please share the URL of your website so we can take a look?
a:visitedis generally the selector you’ll want to change. #666 should be grey though.Bare in mind that if your site is self-hosted, it’s best to contact the theme developer for help: https://wordpress.org/support/theme/fashionistas
This forum is designed for WordPress.com sites: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
Thanks! :)

Hi There,
Please let us know which site you’re working on so I can take a better look at the site.
Thanks.

Hey there,
thank you all so much for your replies. :)
I turned the visited link color to grey, but it still is white.
When I hover the mouse over the link it is grey.I worked on this part of my website today: http://changesinlife.de/seminare/
It is in German, I hope that it is not too confusing. The links in the text are underlined for example underneath “Anmeldung”.I will also contact the theme developer. Thank you for the advice!

No problem! Unfortunately, it appears that your website uses the self-hosted version of WordPress rather than WordPress.com, which is what this forum is designed to help with. Note the difference here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
You may be able to find help here: https://wordpress.org/support/, but it’s best to contact your theme developer for issues like this.

However, I had a look at the link you shared, and the visited links are appearing grey for me (see above). Could you please try clearing your cache?
That should probably solve the issue on your end. :)

Dear torres126,
thank you so much for helping me out! It was indeed the cache! I cleared it and now the visited links are appearing grey. I’m using a new laptop and totally wasn’t aware that the cache could cause such a problem.
I also wasn’t aware of the difference between wordpress.org and wordpress.com. Thanks for explaining that to me. :O)
Have a great day! :O)
