Cant Checkout

    Hi,
    I am trying since several months to upgrade some of my sites, use your plans and map some domains.
    Both Credit Card and PayPal checkout won’t work (obviously they are both working fine elsewhere)
    Is there any trick to do ?

    If it can be of any help,
    when trying to pay with Credit Card, I get the following error : “The transaction was declined. Please try another card.”

    When trying with Paypal, I dont get any error but it redirects me to the Cart page.

    Again, the card works properly everywhere else on Internet (also tried with other Cards both MC and Visa), and I am able to use my PayPal account to purchase in several other websites.

    Sorry to hear you’ve been having problems making a purchase.

    It would be great if you could answer a couple of questions for me:

    1. Which plan have you been trying to purchase
    2. Have you tried making the purchase using another browser?
    3. When you are redirected to the Cart page, what do you see?
    4. When you try and use PayPal for the purchase, are you using the same card you have tried on our site?

    Once I know more I’ll look into what could be causing these problems for you.

    – Which plan have you been trying to purchase?
    I tried purchasing Personal Plan for a website
    I tried purchasing Domain Map for another
    I tried purchasing Personal Plan + Domain Map for a third one

    – Have you tried making the purchase using another browser?
    I didn’t before your message, I just did and got same error.

    – When you are redirected to the Cart page, what do you see?
    I am only redirected to Cart with no error when using PayPal, I am redirected back to the page asking me to fill my payment informations.
    When using a card, I get the following error:
    “The transaction was declined. Please try another card.”

    – When you try and use PayPal for the purchase, are you using the same card you have tried on our site?
    I have three cards (2 Visas and 1 MasterCard)
    I tried the three none worked
    I have them three also in PayPal, I have switched from one to another, and none worked neither.

    Again, cards and PayPal account works well everywhere else in Internet.

    Hi again,

    I’ve heard back from our developers and your payments attempts aren’t being blocked by WordPress.com.

    The error we are seeing suggests a problem with the funding source at your bank. So the next step is to contact your card provider and check they aren’t blocking purchases from WordPress.com for any reason.

    If the bank are blocking these purchases, it could explain why none of your cards are working specifically with us, but you don’t have the problem in other places.

    Let me know how you get on.

    I tried with a card issued by another bank and it worked fine.

    I am tagging this topic as solved.
    And will definitely spend sometime complaining to my banker their services, I love doing that.

    Haha! Hopefully they can tell you why the payments were being blocked.
