Can't choose Custom Colors

  • Unknown's avatar

    I upgraded to custom design but besides the background color I can’t choose the rest of the colors. All four circles still are black with an x through them and I can’t choose a custom color for text etc. Is this a glitch? I’m using premium publisher theme. I have another blog with the custom upgrade and am able to choose colors for that blog it’s just this blog giving me trouble.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hello there! It sounds as if you’ll need to make these color adjustments with CSS code, rather than with the color picker. I can help with that.

    Could you please tell me the specific areas of your site that you want to change? I can give you some code that will address those locations specifically.

    Thanks so much!

    Hello! Thanks I’m new to this. I would like to change the background color of the top navigation bar, the color of text and the background color of quotes.

    Thank you, I appreciate any help.

    Hello again!

    Thank you so much for the extra details!

    *To adjust the background color of the top navigation bar

    Click Appearance → Customize in your site’s Dashboard. Then, click CSS in your right-hand menu. In the CSS Revisions box, please paste the following underneath all existing text:

    .navigation-wrap {
    background-color: #ffffff
    }

    .navigation-wrap-inside {
    background-color: #ffffff
    }

    Then Save your changes.

    I changed these colors to white, as I don’t know what color you’d prefer. You can adjust the html hex color (#ffffff) to anything you’d like. Here is a link to those color codes:

    You will follow the same procedure as above for the following elements:

    *To adjust the color of text

    #content-wrap p, .block-titles p, .block-text p, .block-text {
    color: #dddddd
    }

    *To adjust the background color of quotes

    .block-quote {
    background: #007A7A;
    }

    I hope this helps! Best wishes to you and happy blogging :)
