Can't claim my blog at Bloglovin
-
Hi!
Like said in the headline, I’ve been trying to claim my blog (https://sonjakokko.wordpress.com/) on Bloglovin but haven’t succeeded. I’ve pasted the Follow my blog with Bloglovin code on my blog on this post https://sonjakokko.wordpress.com/2015/06/11/veneretki/ but Bloglovin keeps saying that it couldn’t find the link. I also tried to put it on top of another post, but that didn’t work either, so I already deleted the code from that one.
I’ve tried to see if my links are broken, but I really don’t know what to do and I’m not even sure if that has anything to do with this problem. I’ve tried anything I can with my very limited skills, so please, help me!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please read the post on the Staff blog titled What the Heck is Bloglovin’, and Do I Need It? https://dailypost.wordpress.com/2014/08/26/bloglovin/

I’ve read it a few times already, but it doesn’t solve or help in any way with my problem. I do have a Bloglovin-account so it’s not about that, there’s something more.

I see that post appearing in your RSS Feed here https://sonjakokko.wordpress.com/feed/ and that’s where bloglovin draws content from. I’m sorry I was not able to help. I tagged this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

Thank you for answering so fast, I’ll keep on waiting for more assistance! Already subscribed :)

Thanks, but already did that too. This is really the last option for me, I’ve been trying to solve this problem by myself for over a week now. So if I could’ve found the answer I wouldn’t be here asking for help!
-
Well all I can say is that the post in in your RSS Feed. It is a valid RSS Feed and if bloglovin cannot draw from it that could be an issue at their end because it works fine for me.
-
try deleting your blog from bloglovin, then re-adding it and when the text shows copy iy put it in a new post, publish the post and after that click on the claim button and it should work
-
It looks like Bloglovin’ recently changed the way their embed code works. More on that here: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/bloglovin-widget-only-displaying-html-text?replies=7#post-2410465
As WordPress.com does not support JavaScript code this may prevent you from claiming your blog. As I mentioned in the other thread I’ll see if there is anything that we can do on our end.

Ok, thank you! Now I know it’s not about my skills :D I’ll subscribe to that thread to stay tuned for new information!

Um sorry, but is this answer on a wrong thread? Sure now I can make a widget, but still can’t claim the blog as mine on Bloglovin…
-
Hi @Sonja,
We have done some more testing and @cathleenleemanson is correct. I was wrong about not being able to claim your blog due to the Bloglovin’s new changes. The new changes do prevent you from using the new JavaScript widgets but you will still be able to claim your blog.
We were able to verify our test sites by following Bloglovin’s instructions at http://help.bloglovin.com/knowledgebase/articles/214416-i-m-unable-to-claim-my-blog
If that doesn’t work then you may need to contact Bloglovin’ directly for support.

Thank you all for your answers! After looking for the latest instructions I realized that the problem wasn’t anywhere else but in the layout of my blog – Bloglovin didn’t find the link, because it was never on the front page. I changed the layout for a moment so it looked like “traditional” blog, and then I could claim the blog. After that I just changed the layout back to what it was.
So, long story short: solution was so simple it didn’t cross my mind until now.
