Can't comment any more on favorite site

I’m upset. I chose WordPress because my favorite blogger, whose posts I often comment on, uses it. I have commented there for several years. Since setting up my own site 2 days ago, I am no longer able to comment. As soon as I try, I get a WordPress screen that displays the email address and I have registered with the owner of that site, and it asks for my email password. I enter it and it says it is the wrong password and I am not logged into that email . I am ALWAYS logged in on my email when I am on my computer.

What the heck is going on? I just wanted to set up a simple, test website, not have to completely change how I interact with other internet denizens on a daily basis.

If I completely delete my wordprss site will I get control of my commenting capabilities back, or is there a less drastic solution?

You’ve registered with the owner of the site?

Yes – in a sense. He moderates comments and I have been commenting long enough that he has my email address and passes them through. What I did to solve problem was use a different email addie and wait a few minutes for approval. Not the best solution, but at least it worked.

    Hi there!

What site are you trying to comment on? And what email address are you using? (Your email address will be redacted from public view, but I’ll be able to see it.)

Can you also grab a screenshot of the login form for me and upload it to your Media Library?

    The site is whyevolutionistrue.wordpress.com

The email address I am using is the one you have on record for me, which is (email visible only to moderators and staff) When the wordpress notice came up I tried both my Google PW and the one I use for WP to no avail. As I said, I changed it to an older, seldom used email address and it went through fine.

Just commented again and it is in moderation and I am not getting the error form I had previously. Now the problem is that it is posting me as my wordpress assigned name, and NOT as the name that I have been known by there for the past 7 years. This is crazy! I think I’ll just go ahead and delete my wordpress account and try to regain some normalcy. I do appreciate your input though it seems that as a wordpress account holder, WP wants to control my comments to other WP sites in a way that is completely unacceptable to me.

WordPress.com will pull the information in your profile when you use it to comment on other sites. If you’d like to avoid that the easiest thing to do is use a different e-mail address to comment. Another option would be to connect your WordPress.com account to a more seldom used e-mail address so that you main e-mail address is available to comment from. (You’ll have to be logged out of WordPress.com for this to work).
