Can’t comment on blogger.com without a wordpress.com blog?

    Can wordpress.com users comment on Blogger.com if they do not have a registered wordpress.com blog attached to their account? My blog is actually hosted remotely on my own web space (and runs on wordpress). I signed up for a username on wordpress.com so that I can obtain an API key. I sometimes visit blogs on Blogger.com and would like to make a comment. When I click on the wordpress open ID option in the comment field and type in my username, I get an error message that says “You do not own that identity”. It seems that particular field is the address field for wordpress.com blogs even though it says “enter username”.

    There doesn’t seem to be any other option to comment on blogs hosted on Blogger.com if the author doesn’t enable the username and url option for comments. Can anyone offer suggestions on what I can do?

    The individual blogger with Blogger blogs choose the settings they use and we cannot over ride the choice they make.

    @speaklikeochild,

    Just sign up for a google account and use that username and password for commenting on blogger. In the end that will be less problematic.

    @TSP
    Thanks. You’re right. Now why didn’t I think of that? :)
