Can’t connect site to FB page

    Hi there, I asked this somewhere else earlier, but they told me to ask it here instead.
    since October I’ve been having trouble with the FB connection. Originally, all my posts were connected to our FB page (not private account but a page), and every time I’d post something, it would automatically upload a link to the post on our page.
    It worked up until the end of September, and since October 1st it stopped.
    I googled for a while and saw that FB apparently doesn’t allow third parties sharing to PERSONAL accounts anymore, but it should still link to pages. But even though ours is a page, it doesn’t connect.
    We tried reconnecting but it gives us an error every time. The weirdest thing is that when I go to ‘Sharing’ and ‘connections’ it says we’re connected to FB.
    But when I try to post something, it says we can’t connect to FB.

    The first link shows that I can’t actually reconnect, it won’t allow me to click on connect. And if I open the link ‘learn more’ it simply says that personal accounts can’t link but pages should. Which it doesn’t.
    And the second links shows that according to ‘sharing’ I should be connected.

    Does anyone have any idea what went wrong?

    Hi there,

    Please go to My Site ->Sharing and disconnect Facebook. Then go to your Facebook settings, and under Business Integrations (https://web.facebook.com/settings?tab=business_tools) remove the WordPress connection.

    Then clear your browser cache and try to reconnect.

    Hi there, thanks for the quick reply!
    I disconnected from FB through the My Site, which gave me an error but eventually worked. I then went to the Business Integrations, but WordPress isn’t there. There is nothing there, so I can’t remove it. I did clear out my cache of the past couple of weeks (so until before it stopped working). Tried to reconnect afterwards but it gives me an error.
    It says:
    “The Facebook connection could not be made because this account does not have access to any Pages. Facebook supports Publicize connections to Facebook Pages, but not to Facebook Profiles”

    @kokkieh After messing about for a little while longer, redoing all your steps a few more times, and refreshing about 500 times it worked! I am connected to FB again!
    double checked with some tests of new posts, and everything seems to work great again.

    Hmm. I’m not sure what would have prevented the reconnection in that case, but I’m glad you managed to get it working. If I had to guess it might be a stuck authentication cookie that got deleted eventually through your repeated retries.
