Can't create a blockquote

  I’m trying to make the “grey box” style blockquote, however all I get when I do it is a vertical black line in the left hand margin. I use the Inuit theme.

  That is the way that Inuit Types shows blockquotes: Dark line at left and italics font. How are you trying to do the grey box?

  I just highlight the text I want to be in the grey box and the hit the blockquote button.

  The blockquote style is as I said above. If you want it to have no line at left and a grey background then (if you don’t have the Custom Design upgrade) you have to use some inline CSS. switch to the HTML tab and replace your opening blockquote tag with this.

  <blockquote style="border-left: none; background-color: #CCCCCC;">

  You can edit the hex color code and use whatever color you desire.
