Can't create blog site or change user name

    First, after creating an account, it used my email address to set my user name to be janetbraudgmailcom – it should just be janetbraud. I tried to go to account settings to change it but it will not give me the option to save (it’s faded out).

    Second – when I try to choose a domain, (janetbraud.wordpress.com), it says it’s available. I select it, choose a basic layout, chose the free plan, skipped the template for now, but then it takes me back to the domain screen and gives the error message: An active access token must be used to create a new Site for the User. — in a big red box.

    I’ve searched the forums and support and have followed all the directions for clearing cache and history – I’ve tried Chrome, Safari, and Firefox and get the same result – I have updated browser versions for all three. I prefer to stick with Chrome since that’s the browser I use for everything else.

    Please advise – wordpress comes highly recommended but if it’s this complicated to set up an account, I have other options.

    Hi, can you try changing the setting here?

    You will need to type the new name, then type it again the same way before it will let you confirm.

    Also, what happens when you try to make a new site?
