Can't create new username

    I’ve been trying for several days to set up a blog under a separate email account, but I can’t even get so much as a confirmation page. Every time I put in all the appropriate information and click “create blog” on the signup page, I just get sent back to the top of that page with no notifications, and no email appears in my inbox.

    This has happened on multiple browsers on multiple operating systems over several days. Is there a known issue, or has a series of strange coincidences conspired to give me an annoying couple of days?

    Secondarily: there are apparently zero ways for me to ask this question from the email which I want to start a blog unless I have already started a blog. Which seems to me problematic.

    Usually this happens when the domain you are trying to register is taken. Have you checked that?

    The field next to “blog address” has a green checkmark, and typing the URL in manually gets me to a WordPress page telling me it doesn’t exist.

    Does it say it hasn’t been registered? DOes it say it’s been deleted?

    It says the following:

    “xxxxx.wordpress.com doesn’t exist
    Do you want to register xxxxx.wordpress.com?”

    Clicking on the lower line gets me to the same signup page, and trying to fill it out through that link gives me the same result.

    Are you logged out of this account when you do it?

    Actually, never mind. I just tried one last time and it worked. I don’t know what the problem was, but it looks to now be solved. Thanks for your help.

    Wait, no. It only worked because I logged in here under this name, and now the site I wanted to be completely separate is registered under the same user. Is there a way for me to transfer “ownership” of the website to a new user?

    After inputting the email address I’d like to transfer the blog to, I’m getting the message “You cannot transfer to that user.” I’m assuming this is because I haven’t registered that email as a user at all, but any attempts to create a user are failing, and now it’s telling me that the user I’ve been trying to create has been taken.

    Is there really no way to get any kind of actual customer support here? I am registering under a new email for privacy reasons and would really like to avoid putting the two usernames in the same place on a public page. The more I try to solve the problem, the deeper it becomes and every attempt to do *anything* customer support-related is received with a message telling me I’m not allowed.

    All I want to do is create a valid username with a valid email address. I’m not sure why the WordPress system is making that so difficult.
