Can't delete a category

  I have a category named: “Places I’ve been” and two sub-categories named “Foreign visits” and “Places in the USA”. The latter two categories have all the data. The generic category “Places I’ve been” duplicates the “Foreign visits” category.

  The “Places I’ve been” category does not have a check mark in front of it so I can’t delete it.

  How can I get rid of “Places I’ve been” and just maintain the other two subheadings.

  Hi there,

  Your category “Places I’ve been” is currently the default post category for your blog. The default category is selected under Settings -> Writing in your dashboard.

  Your default category cannot be deleted, so you will need to select a different default category for your blog first. Then you will be able to delete the “Places I’ve been” category.
