can't delete gravatar account

  “How do I close my account?

  Because of how our system works, we cannot delete accounts completely.”

  This is the biggest bs I’ve ever heard. Someone actually believe this?
  So I have to come up with fake emails and username to “delete” my account so it stays in your system forever and you can advertise your “xxx thousand users”. Fine then.

  Hello,

  Yes, you are correct.The user account itself cannot be deleted. It is set up that way to help prevent someone else from gaining access to your site and pretending to be you.

  If you want to get rid of your account details, follow this link and remove all personal information from your account.

  Change your email address to a throwaway address and change the password to something random that you won’t remember to prevent you from gaining access to it in the future. Or, you can just block all emails and keep the account dormant in case you may want to use it again in the future.
