Can’t delete my Default site domain or make it inactive
-
Hi,
I had a free domain – framebyframecritic.wordpress.com. Then I bought a Personal plan and now my domain is framebyframecritic.com, which is now my Primary site address.
Why I can’t delete or make the free domain inactive? The reason I want to do so is because since I made the second one my Primary site address, Google doesn’t index my blog posts. I suggest is because it registers duplicate content because both domains/sites appear in Google search. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
The free WordPress.com site address redirects to your custom domain once you set it as the primary address. This is how all WordPress.com sites are set up. It means any links you may have shared previously (like on social media or with friends) will continue to work as they redirect to the new domain.
Usually, this is not an issue with Google Search Console, as our system does a 301 permanent redirect (which tells Google that the address has permanently moved from framebyframecritic.wordpress.com to framebyframecritic.com). This should also prevent Google from detecting them as duplicate content because even if you try to go to framebyframecritic.wordpress.com, you’re redirected to the custom domain.
Could you try resubmitting the sitemap to Google Search Console? Here’s the link to your sitemap:
https://framebyframecritic.com/sitemap.xmlAlthough the changes usually don’t take effect instantly, please give it a try and let us know if you still see any errors or messages about duplicate content on your Search Console dashboard.

Google has indexed your site and give 7 results. You can test it yourself by googling “site:http://framebyframecritic.com/”
