Can’t delete old blog!

  Hi team, I have a legacy site on WordPress that I created over a decade ago, and having been inactive on it for years and years I would like to delete it. However I can’t remember and don’t hold any of my old log in information. Can anyone help? Struggling to find a way to speak to someone at WordPress directly. I would really appreciate the help. Thanks!

  Hello there,

  Thanks for reaching out. In order for staff members to be able to help you out properly and delete your website, you should be able to provide at least one method that would identify you as the real owner of the website. (such as even a purchase ID if that’s applicable) Otherwise anyone on the web could ask for any website to be removed and no one would want that to happen.

  I will tag this thread accordingly so that a staff member can see it quicker and answer. In the meantime, are you please able to provide the URL of the website that you are trying to delete?

  Thanks for coming back to me Diana – the blog is dresstotheleft.wordpress.com. I don’t have either of the three cited forms of ID required by the help form on the WP form but if I were able to speak to someone I’d certainly be able to identify myself as the owner in lots of other ways. I appreciate this is entirely my fault for not keeping track of everything but I feel someone someone must be able to help?

  Hi @mrsdianatoma – So I had a bit more of a dig around this morning and I’ve now been able to access the account with an old old email account, so I think I’m all sorted. Thanks again for coming back to me – this must be a really tricky issue for both users and WordPress to deal with!
