Can’t delete pages?

  Hi, I’m rather new to WordPress but its a great site and I really find this blog format easy to use. I have one problem though, I wanted to delete a certain page from my blog, and according the the Page Manager it was deleted but I can still see the link in the “Pages” tab. Does anyone know whats going on and how I can get rid of the link? It give me a 404 when I click it, by the way.

  Try going to Manage and Pages and press the delete button

  Going to Manage and Pages deletes the page but it still shows up on the home page.

  Have you cleared your cache? That may be what is displaying.

  Can we get a link to the page in question?

  Doesn’t it show up when you click on the link to the page? The sidebars are cached at times so that might be an issue as well.

  when i click delete it says “i dont have permission to do that” how is it that i dont have any permission to delete a page in my own wordpress?

  Your username is not linked to a blog at wordpress.com and this usally means that we are dealing with a wordpress.org blogger who has posted into the wrong forum. If you have downloaded a free blog template from wordpress.org you need to post here http://wordpress.org/support because the two run on different software and we cannot help you here with wordpress.org issues.

  If that is not the case and you do have a worddpress.com blog then

  (1) Have your cleared your browser cache?
  Windows in IE of FF – ctrl-F5
  Macs in FF Cmd-Shift-R

  (2) Are you using one of these browsers IE7, FF2 or Opera 9. They work well with wordpress. IE6 and Safari have issues.

  (3) How many other administrators, authors, editors etc. have access to your blog and to your password? I ask because normally these are the roles and the allowed functions that go with them:
  Administrator
  The Admin can do everything. Complete power over posts, comments, settings, theme choice, import, users – the whole shebang. Nothing is off-limits.
  Editor
  They can publish any posts, edit any posts, edit any published posts, edit any pages, moderate comments, manage categories, manage links and upload files. They can also delete any posts and any pages. They can read, edit and delete private posts.
  Author
  Is able to edit their posts, publish their posts and upload files. And they can delete their posts too.

  I am having the same problem deleting pages. In Manage I delete the page, but it stays on the site anyway. Using FF and hitting Ctrl F5 doesn’t solve problem. Deleting private data under Extras doesn’t work either.
