Can't delete search widget in 2011 theme.

  I’m using the 2011 theme. I am trying to delete the seach widget that automatically appears in the Nav bar at the top. It doesn’t work and I don’t want it there any way. How can I remove it? I went to the Appearance ->Widgets and I couldn’t figure out how to remove it there. I don’t have access to the HTML code on the main page either. Or can I edit it somehow?

  Appearance > Widgets controls sidebar or footer area widgets. The header search box isn’t such a widget: it’s built into the header of the theme, and you can’t remove it without the Custom Design upgrade. You can switch to a different theme.
