cant delete site – no email with link

  I don’t receive a cofirmation email after i choose to delete my site. Email address works just fine. I have received emails from wordpress.com on this email a few days ago. What’s wrong?

  What is the URL of the blog you want to delete. Have you checked in your email client spam filter? I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

  Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.

  Setting the blog to private is also an option. To change blog visibility to private go to Dashboard > Settings > Reading scroll to Blog Visibility and choose option 3 . See the guide here http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/

  Understood but in the meanwhile you could make the visibility private as it may take some time for Staff to work their way forward to this thread.

  I’d be happy to delete the site sevpasham.wordpress.com for you. Please note that if I do so, this is permanent, and you will lose access to all content on the site. The site address will also no longer be available to use for another site.

  Could you please explain what does deletion mean on wordpress.com – is it like for facebook messages, where the contents still remains and delete is just a flag that hides the content from the user? In other words – does the contents still remains in the possession of wordpress.com even after deletion?

  I read somewhere that the blog name will become available to others after a period of time, i guess that is not correct anymore?

  We do not claim any ownership of your content.

  Deleting a site will remove the site from public view and it will no longer be accessible by the site owner or any of the users. If you wish, you can request the site be emptied first, which will immediately remove all content from the site.

  Blog URLs (the myblog.wordpress.com address) cannot be recycled. If you wish, I can empty the site as mentioned above, but not delete it, and then you can use the address for a different site.
