Can’t delete spam comments – too many…

During the last weeks I didn’t have many opportunities to moderate my comments. Due to hundreds of spam comments I have more than 1100 comment to moderate now. When I try to access the comments the Internet explorer or mozilla crash and I can’t do anything. How do I delete those unmoderated comments without accessing the page? Because right now I can’t even moderate the “good” comments.

I’d suggest sending a Feedback to staff telling them your issue. Also let them know which versions of each of your browsers you’re using. I’m using IE6 and an ooooooold Firefox, and get more than 1500 spams a day, yet the pages come up okay on me, they just take a veeeeery long time.
I believe staff will be able to delete them for you this once at least.

The poster has been here for a grand total of 2 hours. I seriously doubt that they’re hosted here at wp.com. The support site for the wordpress software is over at http://wordpress.org as these forums are for those blogs hosted here at wp.com.
I’d go check to see if you have the last version of Akismet as well.

I finally solved the problem myself by deleting from a smaller list. When I had deleted down to 900 comments I could open the other page listing all new comments again. Thanks!
