Can’t Delete Website

Hi I’ve been trying to delete my website for a few days now, but I’ve been getting the same message:
“We are still in the process of removing your previous plan. Please check back in a few minutes and you’ll be able to delete your site.”
I’ve made sure to remove/cancel all purchases for the site and I’m still seeing that message
Is there a way to fix this?

The error message usually means the cancellation process for your plan is still being finalized. It may take up to 48 hours for the system to complete the process. You can try out few steps:
- Clear Cache and Cookies – Log back into your account after clearing them.
- Use Incognito Mode – Rule out browser-related issues.
- Check for Remaining Subscriptions – Ensure all plans are fully canceled in your Manage Purchases section. You can refer to this documentation.
- Contact WordPress Support – If the issue persists, reach out via the Contact Support page.

So I’ve tried all those things and nothing has worked. And I’m pretty sure it’s been at least a week since I tried deleting the site.
And I can’t contact customer support because I deleted my subscriptions and now it’s saying “human support is only available for our paid plans”. Can you delete my site?

Hi @hscgreg! I was able to take a look, and it seems that your plan hadn’t been removed from the site properly, so that’s why you were seeing this error.
You can now follow these steps to delete the site: https://wordpress.com/support/delete-site/
And you can follow these steps to close your account: https://wordpress.com/support/close-account/
