can’t disable a widget with accessibility mode
-
I enabled the accessibility mode on my blog, using the 2010 default theme. I’m trying to disable the meta widget, but I sellect the radio button that says inactive widgets, hit save, go to review the settings, and they are not how I set them, they are at there default, and the meta is still showing on my blog. How do I disable the wiget?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Have you added anything to the sidebar in Appearance > Widgets from your dashboard? If not then the theme will display certain widgets automatically. If this is the case simply drag the widgets you do want into the sidebar space and only those will show up when you save and refresh your blog. The inactive widgets area is just to store the settings of widgets you don’t want displayed but may use again in the future.

The day I posted that, I also mannaged to activate the top posts wiget, which is now displaying on my blog as well. However, I can’t disable any of the wigets. I don’t see an option for remove wiget in the settings, so if I add a wiget, then I can’t seem to remove it. Any suggestions?

I am relatively new to using WP, but if I am correct, the way you disable a widget that you no longer want to appear on your blog is ,,,,,
Dashboard>Appearance>Widgets
then on the widgets that are in use there is an edit button, once you get to the edit page, there is a delete button, this disables that widget from your blog.
I hope I got that right and that it is a help to you

No, you just drag it over to the unused Widget box on the left. It’s not in Settings at all.

Raincoaster is the drag and drop capability a browser specific thing, because I have never been able to drag and drop active and inactive widgets, no matter whether I use Firefox or IE. If I want to choose a widget I have to click on the ‘add’ button, if I decided that I do not want to use it I have to click on the ‘edit’ button and then click the delete button on the edit page.
