Can’t disable Snapshots
-
I cleaned out my cookies, etc. and now Snapshots are back. When I click the “disable for all sites” box and reload the site, nothing happens. I’ve dumped them successfully in the past.
They’re the most annoying thing in the world. Is there something new in the procedure I’m missing?

Operator error, apparently. I did the cookie dance again and started over, and all is well.

Anytime you clear your cookies, you will have to ban snapshots again since it relies on a cookie to determine your settings. That said, I’ve had the same problems with them before. They are such a nuisance (patented understatement).

This is automatically turned on for every WordPress.com blog. If for whatever reason you dislike it, you can disable it for your blog by going to Appearance->Extras.

It would be very niuce if it actually did disable when I go to appearances/extras but the stupid thing ignores my settings cookies or no. It is horrible for those on dial up trying to access our blogs. I know. I had to use dialup when my ISP had a problem with the DSL. Snapshots had me hanging for ever if I accidently moused over anything. It should be off by default.
