Can’t edit any of my three websites

    I have not edited any of my websites for a while. When I tried today, I could not do so on my Windows desktop (which runs Microsoft Edge) nor on my iPad (in each case, when I try to edit a page, it just comes up white and blank).

    I managed to do some editing on my iphone.

    I downloaded the WordPress desktop version from my WordPress account onto my desktop today and that worked fine until I closed it – I now can’t reopen it!

    Help please!

    The site I need help with is plaxtollocalhistory.wordpress.com.

    Hi, for a white-blank page, can you try clearing your browser cache to see if that helps?

    If that does not help, the browser may be out of date, have a setting disabled, or use an extension or system security software that conflicts. Sometimes though we’ll run into problems with browser updates, too.

    Can you confirm which browser you’re using, and its version?

    Hi there,

    For now we can focus on Microsoft Edge, since you mentioned it first. Usually when you see a white screen instead of the editor, it indicates that you have a blocked or expired login cookie.

    With this in mind can you try clearing your cookies as Microsoft directs here? https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/delete-cookies-in-microsoft-edge-63947406-40ac-c3b8-57b9-2a946a29ae09

    Are you able to edit in MS Edge after you clear your cookies? If not, what if you try a different browser on the same device, say Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Do either of those browsers allow you to edit your WordPress.com site on your Windows desktop? Thanks for the additional info!

    Thanks very much. After clearing my browser cache, I am now able to edit my websites. However, the desktop version of WordPress.com that I downloaded yesterday won’t open.

    I’m on Microsoft Edge, Version 91.0.864.54 (Official build) (64-bit). In “About”, it says Microsoft Edge is up to date but, just after the Version description, it says “Update policies are configured but will be ignored because this device isn’t domain joined.” I have no idea what that means – could it be causing problems and, if so, how do I fix it?
