Can’t edit footer widget in Maywood

Years ago when our site was set up on the Maywood theme on WordPress.com, a widget was added to the site footer. We want to change the text in that widget but we cannot get to it. All the help sites tell us to go to Appearance > Editor but that isn’t an option in the Maywood theme.

When we inspect the page to see where that content lives, it says <footer class=”fse-template-part fse-footer entry-content”</footer> but we can’t find out how to get to that in order to edit it.

Any suggestions? We tried changing the theme to one that supports Full Site Editing but that overwrote all our pages, and that widget wasn’t there anyway. We changed back to Maywood but Appearance > Editor still wasn’t available, so we rolled back the changes. So frustrated.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Update: the only way I could get to the content within the widget was to use phpMyAdmin to export the wp_posts table, search for the content in the widget, find the post in phpMyAdmin and update the content I wanted to change, and save the record. At first I didn’t see the changes when viewing the website, but once I reset the WP cache the change was there. It would be much nicer to be able to get to the block within the theme editor. :-/
