Can’t edit homepage/frontpage
-
I can’t seem to edit my frontpage/homepage other than using the Appearance > customisation route, which is pretty limited.
I think the problem is that WP thinks that my ‘homepage’ is a blank static page that I created following the Ixion theme instructions for creating a landing page and then one page for the blog. When I go to Appearance > customizing > homepage settings, the homepage is set to Home, which is the page that I want it to be. Great. Under Settings > reading > the homepage is also set to home. All good. Under Pages > All pages, there are 4 listed and Home = Frontpage. Good again.
But when I try to edit that page from the pages menu using any of the edit prompts, a mostly blank page appears – it has the word Home and that’s it. The same page loads when I click on the Edit prompt when viewing the page. If I change the homepage to Default under Settings > Reading, then this blank Home page becomes THE homepage, and the one with my content disappears (from the list of pages as well). Still only 4 pages in the list.
So I’m stumped. I’d like to get rid of this ghosty blank Home page and be able to edit my actual one. Thoughts?
