Can’t edit my blog any more with new editor

  • Unknown's avatar

I took you up on the invitation to try the new editor but now when I try to edit a blog I get a blank page–no controls, no text, nothing, just a white page. How do I get this to work or how do I get back to the old editor? Your help says to click the … menu but since the edit page never comes up, I can’t do that. I’m stuck. Using Edge as my browser.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I was able to find a way to edit it by clipping off the end of the URL, but the editing environment was not one I had used before. I’d like to be able to edit without having to click on a link, shorten the URL, and use an unfamiliar environment. The new editor sounds promising with blocks and such. If anyone knows the trick to actually using it (or turning it off so I can use the old editor), I’d appreciate it.

Thanks for getting in touch with this feedback.

Yes, you can use the classic editor at any time. There’s three dots in the upper right hand corner of the new editor ... Click those dots, look towards the bottom, the last item in that menu should be to revert to the previous editor.

I don’t think the short links are incorporated in to the new editor yet, nor is it possible to edit the slug at this time.

  • There are some other reports of issues with Edge. Can you try a different browser?

I can’t get to the three dots because the new editor never comes up. That’s the problem. I just get a blank, white page. I can try using Chrome but that is not my default or preferred browser. It should work with Edge…

Okay, I tried it with Chrome and it did load the page to allow me to see the dots and switch back to the Classic editor. I suggest you put a warning on the invitation to use the new editor not to use it with Edge because you won’t be able to! Being stuck on a white page without being able to do anything was not a positive user experience. Thanks for the help getting unstuck.
