Can’t edit my contributor’s name, and neither can he.
-
I added a contributor to my blog, and he was sent an email that said “You’ve been invited as a contributor”, but gave him no other sign-in information.
He shows up on my user page with a random number assigned as his user name. I cannot edit this, and he doesn’t understand where he is to log in order to post something to my blog, or to assign himself a nickname.
Is it that he has to sign up with WordPress? Can he sign up without creating a blog of his own?
Thanks!

Certainly he can sign up and get a user name without getting a blog. Anyone can. Send him to http://wordpress.com to get a user name in just a few seconds. All he needs is an email address.

Then perhaps he registered at some point and forgot his user name? Ask him to contact support:

He has never registered.
He was never given an opportunity to register, which I thought would have been included in the email sent to him informing him he was invited to be a contributor to my blog.
I also don’t understand why I, as the administrator, cannot edit his user name, or find some way to create a nickname for him.
