Can't edit my website because I changed http to https

    In my settings I changed the URL of my website from http to https and now I am unable to access my wordpress dashboard. I get this error: ERR_SSL_UNRECOGNIZED_NAME_ALERT

    My website is: de-schrijfgids.nl

    How can I fix this?

    Were you able to fix this? I just tried the domain and it went to http.

    I didn’t do anything, but somehow something seems to have changed. The domain goes to http now, but I still can’t access my dashboard. I tried using https://de-schrijfgids.nl/wp-admin, http://de-schrijfgids.nl/wp-admin and the link to my admin page on wordpress.com, but I got the same error as before.

    It also looks like my browser keeps turning http into https, maybe that is part of the problem.

    If you visit a site via https, the browser will remember that (even if the https version failed to load) for security reasons. So the next time you visit the same site, the browser attempts to load the site via https. You can try clearing your browser cache or wait for the cache to expire.

    I just visited your site and I’m able to view it without any issues. So you may be all set for now. :)

    I wanted to add that your site is using the WordPress.org software and is hosted elsewhere. We provide support for WordPress.com sites on this forum. There are some differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org. If you aren’t sure about them, please check the following page that explains it well: WordPress.com vs WordPress.org.

    I tried to clear my browser cache, but it doesn’t make a difference. I can also view the site without issues, but I can’t edit it. Anyway, I will ask my question on the owrdpress.org forum. Thanks for your help!
