Can’t edit or publish anything after using a plugin to change username

A few months ago I used a plugin to change my username for privacy reasons (I think it was Easy Username Updater or Username Changer, but don’t recall exactly).
I think something went wrong — even though I’m still listed as Administrator in the user list, I can’t publish or edit Posts or Pages. I even tried disabling all my plugins and switching to the default theme, and I still could not publish or edit.
The Site Health page says “Good,” and the only other issue I can find is that I can’t re-enable Jetpack because it says “cookie check failed.” I’m not sure if that’s related or not.
Appreciate any suggestions and happy to give additional info.

We can’t help with third party plugins nor with a site not running on the wordpress.com platform. You must contact support of that plugin to solve this problem.

May I ask what you mean by “not running on the wordpress.com platform” by the way? Does my having Jetpack mean I’m not using WordPress?
