Can't edit pages on my website

  • Unknown's avatar

When I try to edit the pages on my website (www.ignitedtheband.com), which is hosted through WordPress, I don’t find the correct pages in the menu. So there is no way to edit the pages, because they don’t appear on the menu. Where might they be? SOOOOO confused!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No it’s not colombiaschildren.wordpress.com. It’s ignitedtheband.com, which I am hosting through WordPress. When I try to edit the site, it takes me to ignitedtheband.wordpress.com, which isn’t the correct site, so it doesn’t show up. Ugh…any ideas?

    Hi,
Have you checked that you have added the correct domain in the settings?

  • Unknown's avatar

Thank you for that idea. Can you please tell me how to do it?

P.S. I just checked, and ignited.com is the site title, while ignitedtheband.wordpress.com is the official website address.

When I go in to edit, it edits the ignitedtheband.wordpress.com site, which isn’t the correct site. I can’t seem to access the ignitedtheband.com site in order to update it.

Thank you so much for any ideas.

Do you have the domain linked in your WP account?
Also try http://ignitedtheband.com/wp-admin and try to log in

Thank you. When I go to the link you mentioned, it directs me to the old name of the band, and doesn’t let me log on. How might I link the domain in my WP account?

I can see the domain is active and hosted on WP.com

Have you tried looking in your main account and switching blogs?

If you make any changes on the old site are they reflected in the new site?

Also look in your account settings and see if you URL is correct.

Have you tried a password recovery?

I can’t find my website. Instructions aren’t working.

“…just go to the action bar in the bottom-right corner of the screen, click on the three dots, and select Customize. […] “
This does not appear where it says it will…

    Hi pamshypnotherapy,

Please create a seperate post for your issue.

Thank you again for your help! I went in and did what you suggested. Then I logged in and made some changes, and it said that the changes were made on ignitedtheband.com. However, when I click to see the page, it keeps going to ignitedtheband.WORDPRESS.com, which is a different site altogether that I don’t want to use.

When I log in to make changes, I can’t even find the pages for my correct website, http://www.ignitedtheband.com (only for the WP site). Hmmm….

OK…let’s see if I can articulate my situation a bit more clearly. I bought the domain name ignitedtheband.com through Godaddy. I already had a WP website called losentregados.net (if you google that, you get transferred to my current site, ignitedtheband.com).

I paid some money and did a bunch of things I can’t remember in order to get ignitedtheband.com as the new website address, but when I log in on WP it shows that it’s still linked to ignitedtheband.wordpress.com (bottom letters in blue), while the top letters in black say ignitedtheband.com. All of this is next to that little box right above the word “stats”.

When I go in to edit, it only edits the WP version, not my other version. I’m so confused. Does this make any sense to you?

    Thanks!
